On April 19th 2008 the TBSWV hosted the 2nd annual North/South Shootout. Prior to this year’s event there were questions
about including other clubs. After talking with an official and members from the ABA it was decided that the N/S Shootout
remain 'as is' and will continue to be an annual scheduled event between the ABA and the TBSWV with each club taking turns
hosting the shoot.
During a get together after this years N/S Shootout, Bert McCluskey, a spokesman for the KVTA invited the traditional clubs
in the state to a 'club tournament'. The TBSWV voted to participate in the event. This
Shoot will only be part of the TBSWV annual schedule on the years that the TBSWV is ask to host the event which should be
every 3 to 4 years. The KVTA will host the first event in 2009. The KVTA will also contact the TBSWV with a date for the 2009
club shoot so this upcoming event will not affect any regular scheduled 2009 TBSWV shoots.
Now, back to the shootout. What a GREAT turnout. I want to thank EVERYONE that took part. What was supposed to be an all
out competition between the north and south ended up being a bunch of friends shooting and having fun.
You are truly a SUPER GOOD group of people. I can't thank ya'll enough for all the nice compliments pertaining to our
new location and the 3-D ranges. I also want to extend a special thank you to Annette Adame and her mother for the delicious
food. That Mexican wedding cake IS THE BEST. I also want to thank the guys (you know who you are) for all the help setting
up and taking down targets. This was another fine example that when you're around traditional people, you're among family.
